Auditions for HAIRSPRAY The Broadway Musical will be held at Clarkston Village Players, 4861 White Lake Rd., Clarkston

You only need to attend one (1) audition date, not both.

Students ages 10 to 18 years old (2025 graduating senior) are eligible to audition.

 

PLEASE NOTE: At its core, Hairspray is a story about acceptance and inclusion (and rejection and exclusion) during the early days of the civil rights movement. The authors' artistic vision requires that, in order to clearly and appropriately tell that story, the cast members in the show accurately reflect the characters as written. As such, the Production Contract requires that the cast members in CVP Youth Theatre's production of Hairspray accurately reflect the character descriptions contained in the script.

To streamline auditions, fill out and bring the Audition Form with you. We will also have copies available at the theatre. Registration fee of $100.00 will be required if you are cast in the show. Download our Audition Packet below for more information.

Preparation: Please prepare a musical theatre song of your choice around 1 min. long that showcases your vocal range and ability. You may sing a selection from Hairspray or any other musical. You can sing your selection a capella or with a recorded karaoke accompaniment on your phone or other device. We will have a bluetooth speaker available.

You will also be asked to read selections from the script to demonstrate your ability to project your voice and to portray a character.

Rehearsals will be scheduled as follows, starting Mon. May 5:  6:30 pm Monday, Tuesday*, Wednesday, Thursday; 10:00 am Saturday*  (*As needed)

 

Performance Dates: July 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26
